A few days ago, Google took Google Voice out of Beta and incorporated it into the Gmail interface. Although Google Voice can still be set up by going to www.google.com/voice,  it is now possible to call anyone in the US and Canada for free, or video chat using the new interface at Google.com.

This will certainly give Skype and MagicJack some competition, and as we all know, Google seems to be “everywhere” when it comes to communications.

After a short tryout with family, Google Voice seems to be pretty stable and only takes a few seconds to set up.

So, go to your Gmail account and start communicating!
